This is Lili Pettit, founder of @ClutterHealing. Lili has over 15 years of combined personal development and breathwork healing experience + training. Breathwork is the practice of purposefully changing your breathing pattern to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. And now that we are all protecting ourselves and others by wearing masks, it is more important than ever.
HERE'S THE THING:
Your breath is available to you 24/7 and can support regulating your nervous system when practiced consistently and regularly. Most of us are unconsciously holding our breath (aka shallow breathing) due to the amount of stress we experience on a daily basis. When we aren't taking deep full breaths our brain and body are oxygen depleted. Focused, intentional breathing brings more oxygen into the body allowing our brain to make better, faster decisions. Combining grounding practices such as placing your bare feet on the earth or soaking in the bath while doing breathwork can be a very powerful regenerative experience.
Benefits of regular breathwork:
- better digestion
- better sleep
- lower heart rate and blood pressure
- more ease when managing stressful situations
- less anxiety and panic attacks
Lili holds virtual breathwork healing experiences monthly and is available for one on one private sessions: Click here.
Words Lili lives by:
"With every breath that you take there is an opportunity to begin again."
